GATE 2021 Eligibility Criteria
It is very important for the candidates to know about the GATE 2021 Eligibility criteria. Only the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria in terms of qualification, and age limit will be allowed to submit the application form. Due to the covid-19, the IIT bombay has made relaxation in the eligibility for the exam. This year, the pre-final year students will also be allowed to appear for the GATE 2021 examination. The students from the arts and humanities stream will also be eligible as two subjects namely Environmental Science and Engineering (ES) and Humanities and Social Science (XH) have been introducted in the exam.
GATE 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: The applicants must have completed their graduation in engineering/technology or Master’s degree in any relevant science subject.
The prefinal year students will also be allowed to appear in GATE 2021 exam.
Age Limit: There is no restriction on the age limit
Nationality: Indian as well as foreign nationality candidates are allowed to apply for the GATE 2021 examination.

Documents to submit for GATE 2021 Eligibility
The candidates have to upload certain documents to verify the eligibility for GATE 2021. The following documents need to be uploaded along with the application form:
- The candidates need to submit their degree certificate/provisional degree certificate/ course completion certificate/ membership certificate as issued by their institution.
- The candidates need to submit the Provisonal ceritificate letter or copy of scorecard for Section A of AMIE, etc.
- The PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category candidates need to submit their PwD certificate. The candidates who have atleast 40% impairment irrespective of any disability will be given concession in the application fee. Other that this, the candidates also have to submit the PwD certificate at the time of admission to alloted institute.
- Candidates who have backlogs in any subjects have to subut the copy of marksheet of the final year issued by their institute. Kindly note that the downloaded marksheet won’t be allowed.
- Candidates belongiing to the SC/ST category have to upload their caste certificate to avail concession in the application fee.
- The Dyslexic students need to submit their disability certificate to avail the services of a scribe.
